From shadow to light.
The blockhouses, vestiges and witnesses of a dark period in our history, are today abandoned and subject to degradation in our public space. In fact, for decades more than 8,000 blockhouses have been present on our French coasts.
On the dunes of Keremma, we took the initiative of transforming a gray and dull blockhouse into a colorful, welcoming and stimulating bubble. After cleaning the surrounding waste from the building and an undercoat of white paint, the bunker was coated in primary colors. Inside, we also repainted the walls, ceiling and floor to offer a visual experience: a new skin for a new lease of life. During this creation, numerous encouragements, a warm welcome and unexpected thanks comforted us in the process but also raised questions: Is it possible to make this action more global by re-imagining other blockhouses on the Finistère coast and more?

Blockhaus, witnesses of our history, have lived on our Atlantic coasts for decades in France.
By reimagining them, we can reinvest the public space. The dark blocks reflecting a traumatic period then become a new bright horizon.

The mosaics in Niki de St Phalle's garden offers a multi-dimension approach and infinite interpretations of her creation but also of our gaze on it. These sometimes mirror - sometimes colored squares could reflect the multi-facets of our consciousness.
By associating on the same silver print film, photographs of the mosaic sculptures and photographs of symbolic abstract paintings, Diane Barthélemy researches visual combinations, interpreting the concept of discrete consciousness.
