Born in France, Diane Barthélemy lives and works between Paris and New York.
Her practice is a continuous exploration of transformation — of matter, color, and self. Through painting, installation, photography, and crafted garments, she creates immersive environments where the boundaries between the visible and the invisible dissolve, inviting the viewer into a state of perception rather than observation.
At the core of her research are the primary colors — red, blue, and yellow — symbols of the essential forces from which all things arise. Diane explores metamorphosis as both a physical and spiritual process: how gesture becomes language, how the self becomes reflection, how light guides the path.
Her ongoing Visual Journal — 42 Days in Fragments: Mongolia, Tibet — traces this inner and outer journey across landscapes, cultures, and elemental encounters, revealing the interconnectedness of all things.
In 2021, she initiated SOLARGATE, transforming remnants of the Atlantic Wall into sanctuaries of renewal, enveloped in light and color. In 2022, she founded REGARDE, a sustainable art and fashion brand blending ethics, materiality, and visual poetry.
Through her work, Diane invites us to cross new thresholds, reminding us that transformation — in all its forms — is the essence of being.
